Jeff Beatty - Time to Kick Kerry Out!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

The other day we highlighted a great video from Jim Ogonowski who is running for John Kerry’s US Senate seat and an alert reader mentioned that we should also point out Jeff Beatty is another Republican gunning for the spot.

Of course we don’t endorse Republicans in a primary here at the CR Voice but we certainly can point out that there are two stellar candidates running for this spot that has been filled for quite a while by the far-left Washington insider John Kerry.

Jeff’s website is here and I might mention that I have seen him speak and he was great! Here’s his YouTube channel as well.

An exert from his bio:

Jeff is a former Army Delta Force Officer (wounded in the first Blackhawk shot down) who earned a Purple Heart and a Combat Infantry Badge helping to rescue hundreds of Americans. He is a former FBI Agent advising the National Hostage Rescue Team and a former CIA Counter-terrorism Officer with service in Europe and the Middle East. Jeff Beatty’s government service is second to none.

Since then he went into business providing security operations for many high-profile venues around the country.

Good luck to both candidates! It really is time to get some fresh faces representing Mass.

After all he’s been there for 24 YEARS! Jim Ogonowski has an uphill battle to be sure in unseating such an entrenched insider, but he’s got a great start with creative messaging like this:

ODrama’s Record of Achievement

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

In the 109th and 110th Congresses Barack Obama was the lead sponsor on 116 bills. Of that pathetically small effort, only one–one!–was passed and signed into law. That huge legislative achievement? S. 2125, a bill to “promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo” became law in December 2006. (S. 2125, Became Law 12/22/06). For those of you keeping score at home thats a 1.6% rate of passage from the junior Senator from Illinois.

Can ANYONE name a legislative accomplishment of the Junior Senator from Illinois?

Apparently his Texas surrogate had a tough time. When Chris Matthews starts giving a Dem a hard time, you know there’s a glaring problem with the candidate.

SOTU

The first standing ovation of the night come from the Republican side cheering President Bush’s steadfast commitment to make tax relief permanent. Funny that the Dems didn’t stand for that…could one say they are anti-tax relief? Would that really be a surprise?

Dems Put Iraq Gains At Risk, Says Gates

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

So says Secretary of Defense Robert Gates:

“We will again face the risk of running out of money,” Gates said at a Pentagon news conference. He said the uncertainly of funding requires the Defense Department to make “short-term plans and short-term decisions.”

You see, the Democrats in Washington, D.C. continue to put everything our troops have sacrificed for over the last year at risk by playing political games with the money needed to win the war in Iraq. Instead of fully supporting our troops and their courageous battle (not to mention recognizing the extraordinary turnaround we’ve seen recently in Iraq), the Democrats in Congress continue to pander to the left-wing, anti-war, lose-at-all-costs wing of their party.

As the article puts it:

Paying for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in fits and starts undermines military planning and risks gains made by U.S. troops over the past year, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Friday.

Mr. Scrouge…

…has an alter ego, and his name is Sen. Harry Reid (D).

Yes, Sen. Reid and the Democrat’s in charge are going to be responsible for the layoffs of US Army civilian employees right before Christmas because they refuse to pass a defense funding bill.

This is not only disgusting politics on Sen. Reid’s part (putting political maneuvering above good governance), but one has to wonder at what point our national security will come into jeopardy as the military is forced into bankruptcy by the Democrats.

BAM! Bob’s back in it!

Having gone to school in Denver for four years, I still keep tabs on Colorado politics as much as possible. Next year, Colorado will play host to the DNC convention for what will surely be a fun-filled week of imposing their left-wing values on a center-right population.

Colorado is also home to what some people say will be the most important U.S. Senate election in the nation (an arguable point, but it will be top 5ish without a doubt). The conventional wisdom inside the beltway has been that Rep. Mark Udall (D-Boulder) is heavily favored to win the seat being vacated by Sen. Wayne Allard (R). Republicans will nominate former Congressman Bob Schaffer, a thoughtful conservative (ACU, Human Events), and someone who represents mainstream Coloradoans.

It might be time for the Dems to take another look at the facts, however. A recent poll conducted by Rasmussen shows shows Congressman Schaffer leading the race. It also shows most Republican presidential nominees leading Hillary Clinton. The races are close - Schaffer’s lead is a slight 1% - but this is encouraging news for the campaign and GOPers around the country. Remember, too, that Colorado has a significant GOP voter registration advantage over the Dems.

One poll is no reason to become complacent, but with Hillary on the ballot, and Congressman Schaffer doing an effective job spreading his message of individual freedom and fiscal responsibility we have reason to be hopeful.

This will be one to watch. Go get’em Congressman!
